DCP LED Test Station simplifies characterization and measurement of UV-LEDs by integrating a pulsed source to to power the device with a complete optical measurement instrument to measure the device output. The DCP LED test station features measurements based upon the most accurate measurement method defined by LM-92-22; the Differential Continuous Pulse method. Standard operational measurement modes including constant current, single pulse and continuous pulse modes are also included.
Turnkey Solution for Measuring UV-LEDs
- DCP Method of IES LM-92 and currently ongoing CIE TC2-91 work for high precision UV LED measurements.
- Vektrex SMU implemented for precise current settings for short pulses and sweeps.
- DCP Method implemented in application software, or as Python tool (SMU and spectroradiometer).
- 150 mm fluorescence-free integrating sphere and spectroradiometer with low stray light, ODM coating.
- Optional calibration standard for system recalibration by the user.
What is LM-92-22?
LM-92-22 is a standard for testing UV LEDs with peak wavelengths of 200 to 400 nm. The standard was developed by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) in collaboration with NIST and Vektrex.
The LM-92-22 standard includes guidance on how to:
- Measure UV LED optical and electrical performance characteristics
- Handle fluorescence and phosphorescence
- Test for the transient voltage effect
- Use techniques like DCP to overcome thermal, optical, and electrical challenges Differential Continuous Pulse mode is a measurement repeatability mode as defined by LM-85. This mode is recommended for all UV LEDs and presents the most accurate optical measurements.
What Source Measure Unit is Recommended for UV-LED Measurement?
Vektrex’s SMU is recommended for testing UV-LEDs using the LM-92-22 Differential Continuous Pulse measurement method. Vektrex SMU’s offer short pulse capabilities as recommended for DCP and operation is optimized to simplify implementation. Any Vektrex pulsed SMU or SMU High Current model may be included with the DCP LED test station.
